Each year the safety committee promotes good safe digging practices. Each DOT district nominates potential winners for their district (nomination form which includes selection criteria can be found in the LIBRARY of this section). Nomination forms are usually filled out in August and submitted the first week of September to the Safety Committee. 

One district winner usually stands out and this company/person becomes our "Lester Feathers" Award Winner. Our committee celebrates all the winners at the Fall GUCC conference each year in an annual presentation that is very fun and creative and is a highlight of our Fall Conference.
