MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
Our next scheduled meeting will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, October 4th at the Dillard House in Dillard, GA. We’ll meet in the Straiton Room. Lunch will be provided by the Georgia Utilities Coordinating Council (GUCC), the group to which we serve as a sub-committee. You do not need to register for the conference in order to attend this important meeting. However, we recommend that you consider registering for the conference. Details are available at www.gucc.com under conferences. In order for the GUCC to prepare our lunch count with the Dillard House please confirm your attendance by sending an RSVP to ebonner@alliedcorrosion.com
Your Board has been working for you! Through work with the GUCC and the State One Call System, we will have an interactive means via the website of assuring that utilities in the area of our CP rectifiers are made of aware of new installations and increased rectifier outputs. In addition, the Georgia One Call System has agreed to send notifications to utilities that would like to be notified specifically about cathodic protection anode beds to reduce third party damage. This should be considered a significant accomplishment as this unprecedented approach will result in considerable savings to all of us! Further, this effort will certainly have an associated cost, none of which is being absorbed by the Corrosion Committee.
As a way of showing our appreciation, we are holding the next Corrosion Committee Meeting in conjunction with the GUCC Fall Conference. Scheduled topics of discussion will be a description of how One Call works, how anode groundbeds will be located, how the Corrosion Committee will interface with One Call and of course, new CP notifications. Additionally, we will discuss the metro Atlanta interference issues.
DIRECTIONS TO DILLARD HOUSE:
From Atlanta, take I-85 north to I-985. I-985 turns into Hwy. 441. Stay on 441 until to get to Dillard. The Dillard House is on the right, can’t miss it.
Please don’t forget to confirm you attendance by sending an RSVP to ebonner@alliedcorrosion.com. It’s appreciated!

Meeting Announcement
Our current Board has elected to hold only one committee meeting per year. Considering that we have established an up-to-date roster with corrosion/cathodic protection related contacts, it was decided that an annual meeting should be ample time to effectively address corrosion, CP and potential stray current issues within our geographical areas.
Plantation Pipe Line Company has agreed to host our 2005/2006 annual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th, 2005. The Plantation Pipe Line facility is located in Doraville, Georgia at their terminal facility.
Directions are as follows: Take Exit 95B from I-285 near Spaghetti Junction (I-85). Travel NE on Buford Hwy. (Hwy. 23). Go 0.2 miles and turn left onto Longmire Way. Go 0.3 miles and turn right onto Winters Chapel Rd. Travel 0.5 miles and go left onto Woodwin Rd. The physical address is 2901 Woodwin Road.
The meeting will begin at 10:00AM and should last no later than 12:00 Noon. Plantation Pipe Line is arranging to have a catered lunch provided for our convenience.
George Vogel of Southern Company Services has agreed to conduct a technical presentation entitled “Induced AC Corrosion.” George should bring knowledge to our group on a subject that most of us know relatively little about. Of course, this is a phenomenon that most of us will be required to address in the future.
With now only one meeting a year, we are strongly encouraging all committee members to attend this meeting. As you know, the Committee is much stronger and more meaningful with the participation of everyone. Please do your best to make this meeting. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Eric Bonner at (770) 596-6020 or our new Committee Chairman David Wilson at (770) 824-4404.
